CHEVEZ, RUIZ, ZAMARRIPA y CIA. was established on September 1st, 1981 as a public accounting firm specialized in Mexican taxes. The founding partners, each with extensive experience in the field were Luis R. Argüelles, Francisco T. Chevez, Fernando Ruiz and Ernesto Zamarripa.

On January 1st, 1993, the firm merged with Trueba y Cia., another group of tax consultants of high standing, headed by José M. Trueba.

Prior to this corporate association, all the founding partners from both firms had been with Ruiz Urquiza y Cia., the Mexican representative of the U.S. Firm, Arthur Andersen & Co.
